This is demonstrated not only in the way we approach our teaching and learning and how we celebrate who we are as a learning community, but also in our students’ consistent and outstanding achievements since we first opened our doors in 1993. Crawford International students are free-spirited, exercising agency through voice and the choices they make.
They continuously share their thoughts, perspectives, and ideas around local and global topics, and they provide solutions to the challenges around them. Our students choose to take action and advocate for change, confidently providing solutions, and continuously displaying who they are, as globally-minded thinkers and leaders, rather than followers. In addition, while many schools expect students to conform by wearing the same uniform, taking the same subjects, and being taught by an appointed teacher, Crawford International students can make personal decisions around what best suits them as unique individuals.
We embrace each student’s individualism by allowing them to have a choice in the following areas:
We give students a choice in the bouquet of subjects that they can take.
We offer more than 20 subjects (across our colleges) through face-to-face, online or hybrid learning.
A choice in subject teachers for specific grades.
Our students are given a choice to exercise decision-making within appropriate boundaries by selecting their preferred teachers for
certain subjects, in specific grades. We have found this option to be very effective in promoting independent learning.
Clothing is a powerful way of expressing one’s emotions, state of mind, and style. That is why we give our students a choice in the multiform (uniform) they wear.
Through our multiform options, our students can express themselves and their personalities. Our multiform range promotes multiculturalism, allowing students of different belief systems to add appropriate items of dress to their multiform, so we can all respect and celebrate their religious or cultural practices.
The unique Crawford International Mentorship Framework has been designed to empower continued lifelong success defined through personal, social, emotional, and academic goals and action plans.
These guide the direction each individual aspires to, as part of their learning journey, and is motivated by personal awareness, targeted support, as well as individualised coaching, training and advice.
