Creative and Talented Film Maker

Saskia received a scholarship from the Mandela Rhodes Foundation to complete her Honours Degree at AFDA Film School in Cape Town [].

Gaining extensive experience working on both local and international feature films, documentaries, TV Series and commercials, it was whilst working on the international feature film Mad Max: Fury Road, that Saskia decided to begin applying her experience to independent projects of her own.

She has since successfully produced two award-winning feature films.

Unearthed, , and Hollywood in my Huis, a narrative picture targeted to a young South African audience.

Unearthed a highly-anticipated controversial documentary about fracking, premiered at Sheffield Doc/Fest in the UK in June 2014 – where it won the Green Jury Award – and has since won several audience awards and screened at festivals worldwide.

Her second film, Hollywood in my Huis released in South African cinemas in June 2015. An Afrikaans coming-of-age romantic comedy, the film first screened at the Silwerskerm Film Festival where it won Best Film Audience Choice, Best Film Critics Choice and Best Actress Audience Choice.

Her latest film, Vaselinetjie, is based on the acclaimed book and is due for release in cinemas in 2017.

Saskia continues developing her own slate of feature films and creative projects, aimed at both the local international market.
